Thanks for the information Cheryl. I do realize that Melissa and Doug are made in China, which is why I mentioned such. I did another post on why we might as parents decided NOT to purchase their products. But thus far they do have a good record in this area and appear to do this testing themselves and not leave it their Chinese processing centers. But of course every parent need to make that decision to trust or not.

Hello, the Melissa and Doug wooden play food are made in China and are NOT certified to be lead free. I am passing on the response the company sent to my e-mail inquiry. Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for contacting SensoryEdge. The Pizza Play is made by Melissa & Doug is made in China. They do not have a certificate of lead free but they have assured us that they have tested their products and found them to be meet all safety standards. We do not do the testing ourselves so I cannot give you a personal guarantee.

Best regards,
SensoryEdge

While it does mean missing out on some of the fun and creativity of stacking up pillows and positioning blankets, I just love the Fortamajig. That has some serious fun potential.
