I made a bean bag toss last summer for my kids. I didn't think about the mittens thing, but I used scrap material I had sitting in a box and some old dried beans. I used a piece of plywood I had sitting in our storage unit and cut 5 holes in it for the kids to aim at. I also put some 2x4 hinged legs on, my husband got those from a scrap pile at his construction site. Then I painted it white with green grass on the bottom and each hole was the center of a flower, with petals all around. It was fun making and the kids love playing with it!
