I love how things are set up by season. My husband and i are reading "I Love Dirt" and "The Last Child in the Woods". Both are full of great ideas and lots of valuable information. I too want to raise kids who are happier making mud pies than twiddling with technological gadgets. At this point my toddler is a professional at playing with bugs and covering himself in grime. I totally share your dismay at kids not able to play. My boys spend most of their time outside, going on little adventures, but I have also noticed that some little friends just can't cope with being outside for longer than a few minutes. So sad. When did our society allow children to be plugged in all the time? As cliche as it is, "when I was a kid" we were locked outside all day and had to fend for and entertain ourselves. We seem to be ok. And I MISS those days more and more as I grow up. I **loved** Last Child in the Woods.
