I was wondering how folks think this product compares to Bite Blocker. That's the one made from a derivative of tomatoes (although they aren't really marketing that aspect). I have tried Bite Blocker and it does work, but the smell is pretty awful. I'd kind of describe it like Ivory soap x10. I love the smell of licorice, so I may have to give this one a try. Appreciate anyone's feedback!

I keep hearing that two others alternatives work, but have not tried them. I was wondering if anyone has and if they work. The first one is simply rubbing a dryer fabric softner sheet on your clothes and the second is spraying your skin with Listerine.

Carla, I've also heard that catnip works well when you just pick it and rub the leaves on yourself. Lemon balm works the same way.

I have been told that just growing some catnip in the backyard and then rubbing on when you need it works well also. Cheaper and more natural, maybe??

You read my mind! I was going to do an online search tonight for an insect repellant. I'll order this one immediately. Thanks so much for your information!

I have been WAITING for this one! My son is allergic to bug bites (it's AWFUL!) and we have tried everything. I'm always on the lookout for natural repellants, but so far the only thing that really works is DEET. I will definitely be trying this. Thanks for the review.
