my thoughts mirror everyone elses!! :) If you weren't comfortable watching your son with the therapist maybe try a new one. I hope we hear a glowing report soon!!

Since you seem to love vampire stories (and who doesn't), I wondered if you had read Laurel K Hamilton. Great stuff!!! Poppy Z Brite is pretty good, but really harsh. The 'Sonja Blue' trilogy is really good too.

Get a new speech therapist! My 2 1/2 year old girls both see one, and it is the highlight of their day. They love her. She makes language fun and they don't even realize they are in therapy. There's got to be another therapist you can see that will treat your son with respect and love and bring out the best in him, not the worst. I say go with your gut too!

Thanks for the shout out on my article. I appreciate it!

The cookies sound yummy - and so easy to make! I always loved recipes my kids could make that didn't require them to turn on the oven. Good idea for Easter baskets, too.

Your sons therapist sounds like my son's first therapist. I was SO HAPPY when we found a new one. My son had never even sat in a high chair except those ones at restaurant, and totally didn't get the chair contraption she'd put him in. Plus, she had all the toys where they could be seen, but she always picked what to work with.

His new therapist is at the local elementary school, her room is bright, inviting and had a table and chairs, no high chair thing. She only has out what they are going to work with that day. And she NEVER corrects or reprimands him, she just redirects him to the original instructions. Plus, she rewards him with goldfish crackers, LOL!

I'd say if you are not comfortable with her technique, you might want to see if you can find someone who is a better fit :)

I'm giggling at your Buffy comment. This is what my husband and I do when the kids go to bed. We're almost finished with season 4. It's addictive!

Maybe you should go with your gut on this. Sounds like you guys shouldn't go back to that speech therapist. Can you find a new one? Someone who will be more sensitive? There are plenty out there and I am sure you can find someone who will be more caring. I worked for one when I was younger and he was great, the kids always left giggling and happy. You don't have to compromise on this. Good luck!!!
