OOoooooo... SNAP! I like a blogger who does her research :D

I tend to agree -I'd just as soon rather not buy anything made in China if it's going to touch my food, but we're talking about bare stainless steel here. Competition is good if it pulls this type of thing down out of the luxury strata.

Won't it be nice when everyone owns one or two and they keep them for years? God willing, by the end of the decade, disposable plastic bottles will be as uncool as baby seal fur coats.

Tiffany - thanks again for posting a safe water bottle for kids to be using! i always am on the lookout for these sort of options for my kids as well as myself:) and i completely agree with you about the competition - i LOVE seeing more of these type of things on the market because, not only then are there more options but it drives the price down, making them more affordable for more families. all in all, thats a good thing!!

FYI - KK now only sells their bottles with an introductory cap that is plastic, not stainless steel. You have to spend extra to have them ship you a stainless steel one. Pura gives you the stainless steel cap with the stainless steel bottle you purchase.

Rommel, isn't Klean Kanteen also made overseas? I personally am happy to see so much competition because it drives prices down on what started out as a VERY expensive product.

Also are you the same Rommel that is hitting all the blogs talking about reusable bottles and bashing all brands but KK...pretnding on some that you don't even have one yet but are "lusting" after one?

I like Klean Kanteen. I have several but I don't like a company rep starting crap on my blog.

Pura bottles look exactly like my 4 year-old Klean Kanteen (minus the crayon colors), right down to the stainless steel cap on top. I am not sure how these johnny come lately outfits can pretend to have "created" anything when they are basically buying imitations from unscrupulous manufacturers overseas, who'll copy anything for a price.

If you go to the KleanKanteen website you can see the history of the REAL bottle, the intention that went into its creation, and the energy that goes into ethical manufacturing and quality . . . all things seemingly missing from these fly-by-night companies. Go to alibaba.com and do a search . . . take out some money on your house, send an email and presto, you can be Pura too . . . at the cost of your soul perhaps.

This isn't WalMart these people are ripping off, its a family business.

Is the lid a pop-up kinda lid, or do you have to remove the lid and drink out of the bottle? I"m wondering so I can see about getting one for my son, who's 2. Thanks!

When you say no chemical liners, do they have some sort of liner, like the Sigg bottles, or are they just metal, like Kleen Kanteens?
