Crocodile Creek Water Bottles

Child with Crocodile Creek Water Bottles

I have long been a fan of Crocodile Creek products. They have so many inventive products that are safer for kids. Many of those products are awesome for sending kids back to school like their backpacks and lunchboxes.

We got some of the stainless steel water bottles for back to school here and like other Crocodile Creek products they are colorful, appealing to kids, and they make a common household product healthier for children and the planet. These would go perfectly with the CC lunchboxes or any lunchbox for that matter.

Stainless Steel Water Bottles for Children

They remind me of the Sigg bottles we already have but stainless steel instead of aluminum. The different colors and graphics are more appealing to the kids then most other kids bottles and yet they are not licensed characters or other pop culture images, which I LOVE. You can get butterflies, horses, outer space, trucks, dinosaurs, flowers, etc. Also, I find they are easier for kids to open and drink out of than some other similar bottles. They are food safe stainless steel, they have a pull-up spout for drinking, and a recyclable flip open cap.

These are going to be perfect for my daughter’s school lunches and my for my youngest son to take to our play dates at the local play museum.

They look so cute! How large is the opening? Are they narrow like Siggs or wide-mouthed like Klean Kanteens? Thanks for all your valuable info!

These are also nicely priced. Thanks for sharing them.

  4. Oh my, I think I’m going to have to get that fire truck one for my firefighter-obsessed son. Thanks for posting as I didn’t realize they had water bottles now.

I am allergic to aluminum. I always thought I was crazy but its true. I cant even drink out of coke cans. Not even if I pour the drink from the can into a glass. I get mouth ulcers, similar to fever blisters. I have avoided the Sigg and used safe plastic but these probably stay colder longer. Thank you for the tip.

I picked one of these up at a local Olly store a few weeks ago and my son has been using it non-stop ever since! It is a big hit! Now I am going to stock up on a few more for school lunches – they are the perfect size to tuck into a lunchbox.

Oh yippeeee! I have been really wanting to find some kind of water bottle for our kiddos! I recently won a contest and received the Brita water bottle and LOVE carrying it with me all over the place- knowing it won’t leach chemicals into my water. So, I wanted one for the kids. Thanks for the info!

my dd has one of these. i was surprised by how much air the top allows in. it’s more air than liquid. and heads up… they leak. everything is sealed in if the top is closed but the second you open it up things get wet (this also depends on if the pop top is in an up or down position though it will still leak a bit if in the down). we still use it so it’s issues haven’t taken away from that but these are just some things to consider.

I can confirm that. They do leak, and not just a teeny bit either. We still use our to, and they’re definitely a good size and safe material……

Do you know if these bottles will fit in a Laptop Lunchbox?

    Thanks

    • Kim, they will not fit in the actual box but they will fit in the zippered laptop lunchbox bag that goes with the box.

Thanks Tiffany! I wanted to replace the plastic bottle that came with the lunch box with a stainless steel bottle.

Hi! These are very cute. Where are they made? Can the top be chewed off? My 4 yr. old gnaws on the straw top of water bottles and ruins them. Thanks!

One poster mentioned that they leak (I have this problem with Kleen Kanteen if I use the sports top) – does anyone else have this problem?

  13. If customers would like to purchase the reviewed bottle, or any other products on the Crocodile Creek website, they can enter the promo code “BACK2SCHOOL” and recieve free shipping.

We bought 2 of these for school. Both leaked…not great when there’s water around the food in the lunch box.

We bought one of these just before school and our daughter loves it, but the paint got chipped somehow and now, after 3 weeks, it has peeled off of the top half of the bottle. It seems to go soft and flake/peel when it’s been in hot water for a while … like the dishwasher (just hot water – no heated drying).

The company recommends you hand-wash them.

My 5 year old son cannot open pop tops on the kleen canteens, but can do the screw up open tops on the sigg bottle for kids. How does this pop top compare…hard for kids to open?
And I read somewhere that they are “supposed” to be leak-proof. But I am reading some otherwise stories. Anyone have experience with being able to exchange or something if yours leaks?

    • My 5 year old daughter can open the Crocodile Creek tops. I have had no leak issues with mine so I cannot comment on the customer service aspect of being able to return them.

  17. Christy

Well, it sounds like leaking can be a problem with these. We however did purchase one and it gets carried all which ways, upside in a lunchbox included, and ours has not leaked (as long as it is closed of course ;-)

    Hi there

I am considering buying one of these bottles. Does anyone know if the top is BPA free? Hasn’t been mentioned anywhere.
    thanks

    Tiffany,

I’m looking to buy some stainless steel bottles for my two kids. I’m considering Klean Kanteen, Crocodile Creek among others. The designs are super cute.

May I ask how well the Crocodile Creek bottles have held up in general? I know you wrote this article June 2009.

Does it leak? Did the cover/top crack, paint peel etc. If any cracking or peeling occurs due to wear and tear, it’s understandable. But if quality issues is a questionable during first few weeks of use… I would like to know. Thank you.

  20. Anna

Never mind, I didn’t get to glance at all the above comments about leaks.

    • Anna,

Our crocodile creek bottles are still going strong. We just used them on a week long vacation to DC in fact. They have never leaked and they are still in great condition with no cracking or peeling at all.

    • Christy

My kids use them everyday, and they are holding up very well. Top is easy for the kids to use too.

We love them too! Doing a giveaway on our Facebook site! I would love to link your blog on my fan page!

I was very excited about this SIGG alternative, but my daughter came home from school complaining the water tasted bad — anyone else have this problem? I’m back to SIGG. . .
