Keto Coconut Cashew Butter Fat Bombs

Keto Coconut Fat BombsSo what the heck is a fat bomb? Well, if you embrace the keto or paleo diets than you probably know. If not, let me explain. It is exactly what it sounds like..a fat bomb, a fat grenade…and explosion of tasty, healthy fats. Paleo and keto enthusiasts like to induce ketosis with a low carb, high fat diet so that their body becomes fat adapted and begins to burn fat instead of carbohydrates.

Fat bombs are essentially energy balls but without the typical oats, grains, and dried fruit. Instead they have high-fat nutrient dense, low-carb, low protein ingredients like butter, ghee, coconut oil, nuts, nut butters, and seeds. They help you burn more fat for fuel and stay in ketosis, developing a much healthier metabolism.

I like fat bombs for all the reasons mentioned above and because they help with protein cycling days and autophagy. It’s all part of kick starting your body into renewing and regenerating. For more info on that, the I suggest reading the book: Glow15: A Science-Based Plan to Lose Weight, Revitalize Your Skin, and Invigorate Your Life. It’s a brilliant, life changing book. But back to fat bombs…

Fat bombs also taste amazing!

Here is a quick recipe for delicious coconut cashew butter fat bombs…

Ingredients:
3 Tbsp coconut butter
3 Tbsp cashew butter
1 Tbsp ghee or grassfed butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
Shredded unsweetened coconut

Directions:
Melt the coconut butter and ghee down to room temperature if not already, add the cashew butter and vanilla and stir well. Pour into a small  flat dish or into silicone ice cube trays and immediately put in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Once solid, use a melon baller to make balls and dip them in the shredded coconut. If you used an ice cube tray just pop them out and dip them in coconut. Eat right away or keep them in the fridge.
