My recent post over at Green Options spurred a comment that organics are not affordable enough to be practical for average families. Eco Friendly Birthday Party
I have had quite a few emails from the Nature Moms blog readers about doing an article on how to host a green birthday for kids. Nothing has a natural mom cringing more I guess then the thought of a conventional birthday party with the enormous amount of garbage they generate from torn wrapping paper and cardboard boxes to the disposable cups, plates, and napkins that are often used. Healthy Carrot Cake
Ingredients 2 c. spelt flour or whole wheat flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. salt 2 c. grated carrots 1 c. milk, coconut milk, almond milk, or rice milk 1 1/2 c. applesauce 1 c. pure maple syrup, 1/2 c. crushed walnuts Preheat the oven to 350F. Berry Smooth Summer Smoothie
No doubt I have mentioned before that I am a smoothie freak. I am "trying" to cut down to just one a day because I can really go overboard, especially in the summer. I made the following smoothie this morning and it was quite delicious. Getting Settled
Yes, I moved again. As you may already now from my hints in other posts I moved yet again. Unlike my recent cross country trek from Arizona to Ohio, this time I just moved across town. My first place in Ohio was a very old Victorian house and I was very excited to do some green remodeling.
