A few weeks back I tested out some eco friendly flip-flops. This past week I have been wearing vegan shoes courtesy of Jambu Adventure Designs. Many of their shoes (including mine above) are vegan which makes them a great choice for ethical vegans and vegetarians who still want fashionable footwear. They also have an earth friendly bent because their outsoles are made with partially recycled and re-usable compressed rubber. They also use 100% recycled, recyclable and re-usable packaging. So … [Read more...]
Worm Factory for Indoor Composting
A couple weeks ago we welcomed some new "pets" into the house... Red Wrigglers (worms). They even have a posh new condo in the kitchen so they are getting royal treatment. They are of course expected to pay their way in the form of wonderfully rich and dark compost for our garden this spring/summer. But I started to feel guilty about that as I … [Read more...]
Fast & Compact the Sigg and LunchBots Lunch Box
Are you caught up in a flurry of Back to School activity? Yeah, me too. Today I reached for the easiest and most simple lunch box options we have. They are easy to fill, compact so they fit inside the small pocket of most backpacks (just throw in a cool/warm pack too), and they are durable as well as stylish. Oh, and they are … [Read more...]
Restore Clean Water System
For the past few months we have been using the Restore Clean Water System. It is a $100 system that I happened to see on Amazon this morning at a 68% discount. Wahoo! What I love about this system is that it goes a step beyond just filtering the water like most water purifier systems. After the water filters through the pitcher you connect it to an outlet and a UV light then purifies and removes 99.9999% of bacteria, 99.99% of viruses and 99.95% of microbial cysts. The pitcher is also BPA … [Read more...]

Most of them have a smell that gags me anyway but sometimes I do like to spray a little something around the house to give it a festive smell. During the holiday season I stock up on Aura Cacia Candy Cane Aromatherapy Mist (LOVE that stuff!!) and other times I make my own. Making Gelatin Air Fresheners Step #1 Decide what type of scent you’d like to have. Lavender is calming, … [Read more...]
