Very Hungry Caterpillar Counting App

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

I wanted to share this counting app for either iPad or Android devices because it is free at the moment, possibly only for today. I downloaded it myself for my autistic seven year old and I was just so pleased with it I had to share this deal. My kiddo, while advanced in age, is still only in Kindergarten and he has been having great difficulty with much of what he is learning. It is going to be a very long road I imagine but one thing we have already identified that helps him is having a … [Read more...]

My Art Place Hanging Art Gallery

By Tiffany 4 Comments

Just wanted to share a VERY cool product I came across at Hearthsong. It is a hanging art gallery that a child can hang in his or her room on their door to display their artwork and spotlight it in and organized and attractive way. With this great display, kids can open their own rotating art gallery AND finally have a display place for their latest drawing or painting. They just slide five of their favorite masterpieces into the pre-fitted openings (one 11" x 14", four 8" x 10') to proudly … [Read more...]

Kids’ Charity Design Contest

By Tiffany 2 Comments

If you have artistic kids and you want to add another element of social awareness to your lives (and who doesn't) you may be interested in a kids design contest being run by The Company Store in honor of their 100th anniversary. I rarely post about things like this but their concept just rubbed me the "right way". Giving cool comforters to kids who are homeless or going through home transitions just seems like a great way to give needy children a sense of home no matter where they are. Their … [Read more...]

Young At Art

By Tiffany 9 Comments

My weekend read was very inspiring, Young at Art by Susan Striker. Susan is the creator of the widely popular anticoloring books for kids I like so much. As an art teacher of many years and a mom herself she has some great ideas about how art should evolve in a child's life and how much of what we might be doing may actually stifle their creativity and love of art. With the exception of baby's first steps, there is no more significant milestone in your child's development than the first mark he … [Read more...]

Eco Stationary from Stubby Pencil Studio

By Tiffany 124 Comments

I found a new eco company that I love a few weeks back. In fact I think it only took me 5.0 seconds to click the buy now button after I landed my on Stubby Pencil Studio. Not only do their products rock..the prices rock even harder. One of my favorite product offerings are the 100% recycled greeting cards and invitations called Color 'n Kids™. Not only are they eco friendly they allow for kids to call upon their inner artist as they can color the cards and personalize them. I HATE sending cards … [Read more...]
