Pura Bottles for Adults and Littles Alike

By Tiffany 19 Comments

Reusable bottles are a big factor in our home. My husband and I use ours daily at the gym and as CrossFitters we have pretty high standards. We aren't going to go with single use plastic bottles ever and some of the more flimsy plastic and stainless bottles might be crushed in class. We opt to go with high quality, wide mouth stainless steel bottles. I am not opposed to glass bottles (I have several) just don't want to see them broken in a fitness class. Of late I have been using my hot pink … [Read more...]

The Real Deal on BPA

By Tiffany 15 Comments

I have written extensively about BPA or Bisphenol A on this blog. It is a hormone mimicking chemical that can be found in some plastic types. It is most commonly found in baby bottles, water bottles, kids feeding items (cups, plates, bowls, utensils) toys, etc. Today I saw an investigative journalism report from Fast Company that takes the BPA issue and really tells it like it. They accuse plastics manufacturers and chemical companies that make BPA of using the same tactics used by Big … [Read more...]

Breastfeeding Is Green – Tips Too

By Tiffany 15 Comments

World Breastfeeding Week is coming in August. The goal is too bring awareness to breastfeeding which in actuality seems kinda silly to me. Moms have two feeding implements on their chest at all times and we have to have a national awareness week to make them aware of what they are for?? Hmmm. With the advent of baby bottles and formula feeding it seems breastfeeding has taken a back seat but there are probably hundreds of reasons why it should get the attention it deserves. I truly believe that … [Read more...]

Battle of the BPA Free Sippy Cups – A Review

By Tiffany 133 Comments

Read part two of this report here... & Check out my review on the New Glass Sippy. By now you have probably heard about the big BPA or bisophenol debate. BPA is a nasty chemical most often found in polycarbonate plastics. These plastics are used many times to make products that are in a great many homes. I have posted about this issue a few times in the past but it is worth mentioning again. So what is BPA and why should you be concerned? Bisphenol A is an estrogen-like chemical used to … [Read more...]
