For adults you have the monthly Conscious Box (of which I am a huge fan) but I also recently came across a similar concept for kids, the BabbaBox. If you subscribe then you get a new box every month especially for kids with crafts and activities to keep them entertained and engaged for a few afternoons, and not glued to a TV screen. I like the concept for the obvious reasons... it encourages play, crafting, creativity, TV free play, ect. But I also like it because it gives busy moms, and moms … [Read more...]
Conscious Box – Holiday Version
I started reviewing Conscious Boxes last month and fell in love with them if you recall. Here is a quick view of this jam packed box: Berryplus - Is it strange that the thing that excited me the most when I opened the box was the circular container of laundry soap. I just couldn't get over the cute packaging (contained 2 tubes for 2 loads of laundry) and the wonderful smell! It is 95% berry-based and 100% plant-based. The formula sounds awesome but the little microdoses will mean you have to … [Read more...]
The Conscious Box – Ethical Goodies Abound
A company called The Conscious Box recently contacted me and asked if they could send me one of their "boxes". I had never heard of the company before but I was familiar with what they were offering. Instead I would just see a link or a mention somewhere and think to myself that "gee I need to order of one of those" and then promptly forget. Thanks to this inventive company I finally … [Read more...]

It is not so much about minimalism as it is about taking the beginning steps to decluttering. The idea is to have the concrete goal of getting rid of fifty things in all the main rooms of your house. Items of the same type count as one... so 5 pairs of shoes is only one item in your overall fifty. I started reading it on Saturday morning and by noon I was knee deep in … [Read more...]
Farmer's Market Trend Spurs Tricksters
I ran across two separate articles today that essentially shared the same alarming trend. Unethical farmer's, agricorp, and chain grocery stores all want to cash in on this Farmer's Market - Local Food craze. Those of us who love greener living and natural foods LOVE our farmer's markets and when I read this stuff I get REALLY pissed. Farmer's markets are one of the number one ways we have to tap into local food. I myself also use a local food delivery service but other than that.. the … [Read more...]
