Holiday Weekend? Go RVing and Make Memories That Last a Lifetime

By Tiffany 2 Comments

Even though it isn't the greenest pursuit, I love travel. It is just one of the ways in which we can connect to our planet and come to love it in all its wondrous variety...by exploration! So even though travel might increase our carbon footprint it is one of those things that I happily forgive because I really do believe that you protect what you care about and exploring your city, county, state, country, and world can be part of that. As long as you do so mindfully, with some planning, and … [Read more...]

Bazura Lunch Bags

By Tiffany 3 Comments

I have been a gig fan of Bazura bags for a long time and just look at them... they are so darn clever! There is nothing inherently cute about juice bags and plastic waste but when recycled into these adorable bags I think it just works. It become stylish and functional. My daughter has been taking the mini lunch box to school every day. It is the perfect size for child's school lunch and she seems to enjoy it as well. The regular lunch tote is actually quite roomy. We took it with us hiking … [Read more...]

Wednesday is Healthy Lunchbox Day

By Tiffany 5 Comments

One of the most important places that we can make an impact in child nutrition is the school lunch. Have you seen what is on school menus these days? Chicken nuggets, pizzas, burgers, mac and cheese, sugar laden drinks, and french fries are what is passing for veggies these days. It is truly sad that often times it is cheaper for parents to let their kids eat at school rather than to pack a lunch. This may be why @DrPraegers had designated each Wednesday as Healthy Lunchbox Day and parents are … [Read more...]

Weekending

By Tiffany 6 Comments

Not much going on... just trying to stay cool during this heat wave. We have a nifty indoor/outdoor temp display so as soon as the outdoor temperature gets cooler than the indoor temp (around 10:00 PM) we throw open the windows and put fans in them. Those stay until about 9:00 AM. I actually get pretty cold in my room at night and LOVE it! Plus I just like the look of box fans in the windows.. reminds me of summer days on the farm when I was a kid. Fresh picked Hydrangeas from the yard are a … [Read more...]

A Spoonful of Ginger

By Tiffany 1 Comment

While many US families had wild Super Bowl weekends we had a laid back weekend without much special going on. Hubby and I both read books, the kids played outside with their new snow-ballers and bricker, and we generally just enjoyed being snowed in. Instead of the Super Bowl we watched The Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet and chowed down on egg salad sandwiches. I also made an evening meal from one of my new favorite cookbooks... A Spoonful of Ginger - Irresistible, health-giving, recipes from Asian … [Read more...]
