I am a big fan of Elizabeth Pantley's "No Cry" solution books. Not only is she a gifted author and instructor for parents, the whole no cry philosophy has always resonated with me as I am a BIG opponent of cry-it-out methods. I do not believe in letting my babies/children cry for extended periods of time in the hopes of teaching them some life lesson. Her best book IMO is The No Cry Discipline Solution but I never had a need for her sleep solutions book. Her latest book, The No Cry Nap … [Read more...]
Raw Food for Kids
Just in case you missed it, I posted about kids and raw food over at my other blog. It is challenging IMO to commit to a raw foods diet because it is so different than what we all grew up and with. Perhaps this may be a tad early but schools will be back in session next month. Something going on right now will certainly have an impact on your local school's lunch room. This article at The Associated Press confirms something I have suspected...the skyrocketing gas and food prices will be hard on public schools and school lunches. Even a one-penny increase in the cost of milk can cost the nation's schools another $54 million, said Pavel N. Matustik, chief food services administrator of the … [Read more...]
BPA Free Sippy Cups – Part Two
Check out my review on the New Glass Sippy! A few months ago I wrote a lengthy review of BPA free sippy cups. I reviewed, compared, and rated 5 major sippy cups that are BPA free...Klean Kanteen, the Sigg, the Foogo, Born Free, and Avent Naturally. A few months before that I also wrote about BPA free baby bottles and particularly glass baby bottles. I wrote another one just a few weeks ago. All of these posts draw a lot of daily traffic to this blog so I know this is a topic of great … [Read more...]
