I have written about eating well on less money many times. This post on affordable organic food is a popular one. Even though I think it is totally possible to eat well and not spend a fortune it can be a difficult and delicate process. I asked fans on my Facebook page how much they spend on food, assuming that they eat mostly organic, whole, nourishing foods. The answers varied but it seemed that families with only 2 or 3 managed to get away with spending only $200-400 per month. When the … [Read more...]
So Much to be Thankful For…
I will likely be heading out of town for Thanksgiving this afternoon but of course all week long I have been reflecting on what I am thankful for. Frugal Luxuries and Simple Living
"We are lovers of beauty without extravagance" - Thucydides I read this amazingly simple and heartwarming quote from a book this weekend. For instance, we make our own play dough. 6. I shop at garage sales. 7. I make my own household products or beauty … [Read more...]

There is just nothing like a cold, refreshing bottle of $2.00 tap water right? Not! Save yourself some money and bottle your own "public water source" water in a nice resuable bottle. I recommend Klean Kanteen or Life Factory. Not only will you stop funding greedy and manipulative corporations you will also help to reduce the amount of plastic bottles entering the … [Read more...]
