Gone are the days of soaking dried beans overnight like my mother and grandmother used to do. Now I can make fast, no soak beans in a pressure cooker, specifically my Instant Pot. I even recently sold my beloved ceramic bean pot because I just have use for it anymore. The Instant Pot makes things easier and faster.
Now when I get the hankering for chili and I am not left with canned beans if I “forgot” to soak my dried beans. I also don’t have tons of bags of dried beans in my pantry anymore because they are so easy to cook up now. Oh and if you are a Dave Ramsey fan, you really can makes lots of beans and rice to stay on budget because dried beans are much cheaper than canned!
Once you make beans a couple times you will fall in love with your pressure cooker all over again.
To cook dried beans in your Instant pot just add about a pound of dried beans to your pot along with 6-8 cups of water. Close the vent and either press the beans/chili setting or put on manual cooking for 30 minutes. That’s it. After 30 minutes you can release the pressure either eat the beans as is or add them to the makings of a soup or stew. Enjoy!
