The Year in Review: Baby Led Weaning Style

By Guest 6 Comments

A guest post by Renee: When you have a baby born in January one of the neat things about the inevitable New Years "year in review" is that its also a retrospective on their first year - and what a packed year that is! In just these last 12 months this little guy: is now practically walking.  It blows you away sometimes as a parent how quickly these little precious beings grow and change. After my third child I am maybe not as blown away at that though as my husband was when I … [Read more...]

Lily’s Dark Chocolate

By Tiffany 4 Comments

One of the perks of a paleo diet is that I don't try to limit my chocolate intake. I just make sure it is dark chocolate and I enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!  I have tried so many different and wonderful dark chocolates since I started this new "diet" and I have been blown away by how much I actually like chocolate when I am eating the good stuff. Most of the chocolate marketed to us is crap...nutritionally and taste-wise. One that I tried many weeks ago and forgot to mention (oops!) is Lily's Dark … [Read more...]

Dumpster Diving for Charity – Listen In!

By Tiffany 16 Comments

This month's podcast is an interview with Ginger Freebird who used Freeganism or dumpster diving, to feed the hungry and homeless. In this interview we learn about what Freeganism is, what spurred her to take the leap, and how she has been able to donate nearly $30,000 worth of fresh food to area homeless shelters and food centers in only 9 months. I met Ginger on Twitter and was amazed by her Squidoo page where she shows, with pictures, what she has been able to accomplish utilizing the … [Read more...]

Interview: Amber of Diaper Kit and Butt Knits

By Tiffany 9 Comments

A couple years ago or so ago I met a great gal named Amber online. At the time I still owned a cloth diaper company and I was blown away by her store Diaper Kits. I loved how easy she made it for other moms to learn to sew their own diapers or sew just a few without having to invest in tons of specialty fabric... the materials most modern diapers are made with, you won't find in stores. Amber has recently gone on to open another similar business...Butt Knits. There she offers patterns for … [Read more...]
