This week was a bit of a let down in that I did not get to workout as much as I wanted to. Much of this was because my CrossFit box had a wonky schedule due the CrossFit Games in LA this past week. Our box had a competitor, Marcus Hendren, in the games and several of the coaches went with him. He finished in 7th place, which makes him the 7th fittest person on earth, or so they say. How Do You Bamboo?
Since we try to keep things green and natural on the homefront bamboo is something we have quite a bit of around the house. It is everywhere from our cooking utensils to the cutting boards we chop our veggies on every day. How to Make Homemade Almond Milk
This morning I made some raw almond milk. It is still a living food, it's vegan, and is very good for you. My two boys love to drink it straight up...my daughter would rather have raw cows milk I think. But none of them mind when I use it in cereals or in homemade raw ice cream. We also use it to make chocolate milk and banana milk which they all love. It is great as a base for milky matcha tea drink too. Yum! It is super easy to make. Natural and Green Lawn Care
For years I could brag...I have no lawn. That was when I lived in the desert though. Now I am in the Midwest and yes I do have a lawn and it is enough to make an eco conscious person want to faint. Using a gas mower for one hour will produce the same pollution as driving a car 1300 miles. Ouch! Guess what I have and what I use to mow my lawn? You guessed it...a gas mower.
