Co-Sleeping Safely With Your Baby

By Tiffany 27 Comments

Awhile back moms across the blogosphere became outraged by a campaign from the City of Milwaukee Health Department designed to convince parents that co-sleeping is not safe. Not only is co-sleeping not safe, it is comparable to letting your baby sleep next to a sharp knife, or so they want parents to think. Of course they do not bother to mention that it is riskier to drive your baby around in an automobile than to bring them into bed with you but that wouldn't be staying true to their actual … [Read more...]

Health and Immunity With Fish Oils

By Tiffany 16 Comments

The foundation for a healthy immune system for our kids is a healthy diet with all the vitamins and nutrients their growing bodies need, getting adequate exercise, and good sleep. Because our food sources can be so tainted with inadequate soil conditions, chemicals in the food, cooking the food which reduces half the nutrient value, etc it is no wonder that so many have decided to supplement. I am one of them. I don't think a healthy diet alone will meet all of their needs...our food chain is … [Read more...]

Healthy Child Healthy World

By Tiffany 10 Comments

I was SUPER excited to get this book. I have been a big fan of the Healthy Child Healthy World organization for many years so when they published a book I knew it would be good. The title is Healthy Child, Healthy World and it is written by Christopher Gavigan, the CEO of the organization with the same name. The forward is written by Meryl Streep and it has contributions from Gwtneth Paltrow, Brooke Shields, Tom Hanks, Tobey Maguire, Kate Hudson, and Erin Brockovich...just to name a … [Read more...]

The Healthiest Kids

By Tiffany 2 Comments

I just finished reading The Healthiest Kid in the Neighborhood by William, Martha, James, and Robert Sears. I think I pretty much adore every single Sears book I have read but this one was especially good. The subtitle of the book is 10 Ways to Get Your Family on the Right Nutritional Track and if I had to recommend a book to anyone about healthful eating for children, this is the book I would tell them about. Our children are facing a nutritional crisis with increases in diabetes, obesity, … [Read more...]
