How to Take Care of Yourself During the Winter Months

By Tiffany 16 Comments

This is the time of year when people start getting gung ho about their goals for the new year. For many those goals will include goals to lose weight or generally improve their fitness levels and 'change' their body. Sadly it is also the time when our bodies are naturally the most resistant to changes such as these. Why??? Because they are programmed that way! During the winter months we naturally want to hybernate more, sleep more, and stay warm and cozy. The body doesn't like to lose body … [Read more...]

Energems – Candy for Working Out

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

Energy candy, chews, jellybeans...for quite awhile know I have known about them and wanted to give them a whirl to see if they really work. I know quite a few fitness bloggers, runners, and enthusiasts who swear by them. They look just like candy and come in a variety of shapes and sizes but they are more Red Bull then sugar rush. My workout routine though really didn't require them. I worked out in the mornings, when I am naturally at my most energetic and fresh. That changed this past month … [Read more...]

After Black Friday and Cyber Monday Comes #GivingTuesday

By Tiffany 2 Comments

I don't have any hard and fast policies about Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Over the years I have skipped one or both or decided to venture out and get a deal or two. I know many green bloggers call for boycotts of these events but I don't support that personally and that is probably because neither will ever get to the point of consumer gluttony for me. Black Friday for me might mean nothing or it might be the day I get that one hot item one of my kids asked for and an opportunity to get it … [Read more...]

Go Green, Get Fit – The Challenge

By Tiffany 17 Comments

On June 18th, along with 20+ other green bloggers I am kicking off a Go Green, Get Fit Challenge. The idea behind it is to join together and support each other in making a commitment to fitness and since we also happen to care about sustainability issues we will be considering the impact of this process too. We moms spend so much take taking care of our families and our household responsibilities that sometimes self care gets lost in the mix. As I have discovered over the past year or so though, … [Read more...]

Wooden Earbuds for Eco Fitness

By Tiffany 7 Comments

My ten year old loves to listen to music while he roller blades... which is usually a couple hours each day. He all but commandeered my older iPod shuffle so this week I decided to just gift it to him. Perhaps I was just sick of hearing my son's music.. "We Will Rock You" in particular. Either way I got a new one for me and the husband. I use it at the gym and for meditation, he uses it while at work. A new shuffle meant new headphones so I opted to get some of the new wooden earbuds I have … [Read more...]
