If you are local, check out the giveaway at the end of the post... Last week my two youngest kiddos, (my daughter's friend), and my hubby hit up one of our favorite places in Columbus...the Science Center, COSI. We have been season pass holders off and on throughout the years but not of late so it had been awhile since we had been there for any length of time (minus that preschooler event in June). We were excited to check out the new Lego Castle exhibit though since all three of my kids are … [Read more...]
Living Minimalist – Practical for Families?
A reader recently asked me if I felt it was better to raise kids with less space and stuff. I have written about this several times but my posts on Minimalist Children, Helping Kids See Past Commercialism , and Simplicity Parenting come to mind. I am no parenting expert by any means and my kids manage to throw me for a loop all the time but in regards to this issue I think my husband and I have found something that seems to work very well for us. It was a journey to get there though. We … [Read more...]
A Green Gift Tradition – Season Passes
A reader was recently asking me about low impact gifts and what I would recommend for kids for Christmas. Marble Run – Natural Toy Fun
I don't know about you but I HATE walking down the toy isles in stores. I know all the plastic is not healthy for my kids or the planet but the flashy, techno toys can suck just about any kid in. My 3 year old son for instance is all about robots these days. I am not quite sure how that happened but since Transformers (which he has not seen) is all the rage these days he cannot help but be over the moon for the robots he sees everywhere. Now he is the proud owner of a few robot toys. But still … [Read more...]
Fog and Vegan Ice Cream
The end of another week. Where did it go? Perhaps it went by so fast because I have barely had all my children under the same roof for 2 weeks now. One or more of them is ALWAYS gone now... spending the night or many nights, with their grandparents. Since we moved 1.5 hours away they are staying with them more often. I can't say that I blame them... they love their nana and papa. My son started out the week at their house since we couldn't miss the return of my father's racing car, after having … [Read more...]
