Go Green Get Fit – Week Five – My Fave Fitness Blogs

By Tiffany 4 Comments

This week was a bit of a let down in that I did not get to workout as much as I wanted to. Much of this was because my CrossFit box had a wonky schedule due the CrossFit Games in LA this past week. Our box had a competitor, Marcus Hendren, in the games and several of the coaches went with him. He finished in 7th place, which makes him the 7th fittest person on earth, or so they say. His performance was way awesome! On Monday I was doing the WOD and looked over to see him doing lunges right next … [Read more...]

The Case for Barefoot Running

By Tiffany 17 Comments

This is not a book I would typically review here but It has been so helpful to me I thought I would. A couple months ago I started running again.. after over a decade long hiatus. When I did take it up again I was wearing Skechers Shape-Ups and at first I liked the extra work that the shoes seemed to heap on my calves but then my feet and legs started to hurt badly after each run. After I was forced to take several days off due to this I decided to go to the library and see if they had any … [Read more...]

Pedometer Walking

By Tiffany 3 Comments

Thanks to my lovely, local library I have turned into a reading fool since we relocated to the East side of Columbus. My husband or I make 2-3 trips a week usually. This bookoholic has saved so much money on books! This week I read Pedometer Walking. I saw it on the shelf and decided to dust off my pedometer and see what this book had in store for me. It is really a very interesting book about how much we should be walking daily... or rather how many steps we should be taking. According to … [Read more...]

5 Ways to Recycle Your Blue Jeans

By Tiffany 16 Comments

I seem to be suffering from clumsiness lately. A few weeks back I was walking out of my bedroom and instead of clearing the doorway my left hip brushed the doorjamb and caught on the receiver end of the door knob thingamajiggy (not sure what to call it). It ripped my jeans ever so slightly. The 1.5 inch tear didn't bother me much so I just kept wearing them as is. Well it happened again a few days ago and now that tear streaks down my whole back side...so they are not wearable anymore. A patch … [Read more...]

Protecting that Soft Baby Skin

By Tiffany 4 Comments

I just wanted to share a great baby product that I use at home. No it is not necessarily an environmental product…but definitely a smart one. My 7 month old baby boy has just started crawling and his knees and elbows have been getting red and sore from all the friction in those tender areas. I felt so bad for him. L Then I remembered a product I used for him when he a newborn in freezing cold Ohio. BabyLegs! I used them on his legs to keep them extra toasty in below zero weather but they would … [Read more...]
