Eco Valentine’s Day Ideas

By Tiffany 4 Comments

Feel that love in the air? Yes, Valentine's Day is around the corner. After Halloween I think Valentine's is my fave holiday because it's all about ooey gooey love in all its forms. This could be love for your partner, love for your kids, love for your extended family, or love for your friends. We don't celebrate love enough in my opinion so heaven forbid we let the official love holiday pass us by without celebration. This of course does not mean we have to give in to the mainstream and … [Read more...]

Over the holiday weekend I read Hundred Dollar Holiday: The Case For A More Joyful Christmas. With less than 100 pages it is a pretty fast read and I loved the fact that the cover was made from brown packing paper... it just screams minimalism and voluntary simplicity. The core idea is to pick a modest amount of money like $100 and spend no more than that on the holiday. This allows us to slow down the pace of Christmas, make it more about time with loved ones, and less about rampant … [Read more...]

Mother’s Day Gifts for Green Moms

By Tiffany 8 Comments

Knowing what to get a green mom for Mother's Day can be a tough call. In general most green moms believe in reduce, reduce, reduce, reuse whenever we can, and then when we HAVE to... recycle. The commercialization of Mother's Day often means we get gift and get "crap we don't need". But if you take into consideration what a mom values, what a green mom values, and what type of gifts we would actually use... then you can come up with a few sure fire ideas. 1. Gift the Gift of Time - No fancy … [Read more...]
