LillyBean Felt Market Fruit

By Tiffany 3 Comments

For many years I have loved felt foods for pretend play. They make the perfect addition to any play kitchen or pretend picnic. Sure you can get cheap plastic faux foods but it just isn't the same. Because I knew they would not be very hard to sew myself I often decided to go with wood instead of felt... ya know, why pay for something you can make right? The problem is that I never made any... the time it would take to draft a pattern and test and tweak just seemed like too large an undertaking … [Read more...]

How to Make a No Sew Draft Snake

By Tiffany 3 Comments

I love to sew but even I can appreciate simple no-sew craft projects. Since I was running short on time last week I didn't want to lug out the sewing machine to sew up some draft snakes so I decided to get creative, and now I can't see doing these any other way. A draft snake is a tube of fabric filled with batting, fabric scraps, or another insulating substance like rice, or buckwheat. Actually rice and buckwheat are BETTER than batting or fabric scraps because the weight anchors them in … [Read more...]

Fog and Vegan Ice Cream

By Tiffany 5 Comments

The end of another week. Where did it go? Perhaps it went by so fast because I have barely had all my children under the same roof for 2 weeks now. One or more of them is ALWAYS gone now... spending the night or many nights, with their grandparents. Since we moved 1.5 hours away they are staying with them more often. I can't say that I blame them... they love their nana and papa. My son started out the week at their house since we couldn't miss the return of my father's racing car, after having … [Read more...]

Eco Wrap – Raw Foods and Bags

By Tiffany 3 Comments

TGIF! Have an awesome weekend everyone! My blogging efforts have slowed just a bit in case you haven't noticed. I think I am enjoying summer too much. I have been taking my kids and walking an air conditioned mall everyday for exercise. I have been hitting garage sales every weekend without fail looking for second hand deals, and I have caught all the summer movies I have wanted to see...including one just a few hours ago. It has been nice to spend more time unplugged. Well...kinda...I did … [Read more...]

5 Ways to Recycle Your Blue Jeans

By Tiffany 16 Comments

I seem to be suffering from clumsiness lately. A few weeks back I was walking out of my bedroom and instead of clearing the doorway my left hip brushed the doorjamb and caught on the receiver end of the door knob thingamajiggy (not sure what to call it). It ripped my jeans ever so slightly. The 1.5 inch tear didn't bother me much so I just kept wearing them as is. Well it happened again a few days ago and now that tear streaks down my whole back side...so they are not wearable anymore. A patch … [Read more...]
