Wool Leggings Rock Fall Weather

By Tiffany 2 Comments

The weather here in Central Ohio is making the shift to foggy and cold. Shorts are packed away and the leggings and jeans are at the ready. My daughter wears leggings quite often as they go so well with long knit sweaters and they can be paired with skirts and dresses to keep a feminine, yet "warm" look. She has several pairs of cotto/lycra leggings but we are really liking these new Merino wool leggings from Merino Me. They are made of light weight pure New Zealand merino wool jersey. The color … [Read more...]

Natural Bathwater Colors

By Tiffany 7 Comments

One of the first products to get the boot from our home when I started this journey to a more natural, green life was the little tub of Crayola bathwater colors. We were very loyal customers and my two oldest LOVED to tint their bath water all sorts of groovy colors. 10 MORE Ways to Reuse Glass Jars

By Tiffany 30 Comments

One of the first places I head to in my local thrift store is the glassware section. It is not uncommon for me to buy up all the mason jars or other glass jars they have. I like ones with lids (as long as they don't have mold or rust) but I will buy ones without lids as well because they are one of my favorite storage containers. I rarely buy anything from the store that comes in jars like these (spaghetti sauce, pickles) so I have to get mine second hand. Last year I wrote about 10 Ways to … [Read more...]

Educational Games for Cold Weather Fun

By Tiffany 8 Comments

Is it getting chilly in your neck of the woods? It is here in central Ohio. I am already putting my energy savings and stay warm plan into action. This week I hope to sew up some rice bags that will be mini space heaters in our beds, some draft snakes for windows and doors, and some window quilts. Because we know it will be cold and snowy for many months I have also been thinking about how we can entertain ourselves without resorting to watching TV all winter. Yes, we will be indoors a lot but … [Read more...]
