Facial Tissues With a Conscious

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

This is a practice I learned from my dad. He wore suits nearly every day and you would not find wadded up pieces of paper tissue in his pockets. He carried around a nice "hankie" at all times. Of course I did say we almost never buy facial tissues. There is one time each year when we do buy … [Read more...]

Living the Green

By Tiffany 4 Comments

I don't typically shop at WalMart but as with most conventional stores there are usually a couple things I might need or buy there, even if the bulk of my shopping is done elsewhere. There are two items I might go to WalMart for. The first is organic coconut sugar since it is $1.30ish less than my regular grocer, for the exact same brand/size. I don't use it often but there is at least one recipe I make once or twice a month that tastes best when I use coconut sugar and I cannot stand to pay … [Read more...]

Unique and Green Christmas Gifts for Kids

By Tiffany 11 Comments

There are lots and lots of green toys on the market. I have posted about hundreds of options over the years and I have a constantly updated Green Christmas Gift Guide that highlights many of them. I like green toys from small family owned businesses and I like to support the larger companies who happen to make sustainable toys. More and more though I look for things that are unique and not likely to be found on any bestseller list on Amazon. Here are some of the gems I found this year at one of … [Read more...]

Green Your School Year with Recyclebank

By Tiffany 1 Comment

It is that time of year so I  have been posting regularly about greening the upcoming school year. I have been doing this for a couple years so it is habit now but yet even I need reminders and motivation sometimes. Going to Walmart and tossing the cheapest stuff in the cart as fast as you possibly can is certainly tempting when your to-do and  your to-buy list is super long. If it were easy all the time then it wouldn't be called "making an impact" would it? Even green parents can start to run … [Read more...]

Juice Beauty – Organic Skin Care

By Tiffany 2 Comments

Being in good health comes down to MANY things. One of those obviously is what fuel or food we put into our body. Another aspect is what we expose ourselves to... cleaners, home furnishings that off-gas, chemical air fresheners, etc. Yet another aspect that many often overlook is the beauty products that we may use on our bodies. What we choose in this regard is just as important as what food we choose to eat. It's not enough to simply use an organic shampoo or homemade soap only to turn around … [Read more...]
