And here I thought buying antibacterial soaps was great for killing germs on grimey little toddler hands. BUT&#8230;.75% of liquid hand soaps sold in the United States contain triclosan, a registered pesticide by the EPA.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, widespread use of antibacterial products may contribute to antibiotic resistance and weakened immune systems. So instead of reaching for that antibacterial soap&#8230;.our best defense against germs is plain soap, water, and thorough scrubbing.
