No it is not a spelling error. I am not talking about the movie, The Secret of Nim. I just had to use that play on words since I watched that movie a lot when I was a child. :)
I have fallen in love with NEEM products lately. Specifically I have been using facial soaps that have neem in them but I also have been known to use toothpaste that has neem in it to.
So what is neem? It is actually a tree. Its official name is Azadirachta Indica and it has been used in India for centuries for medicinal purposes. Neem oil has amazing antibacterial and antiallergic properties that make it very effective for treating skin ailments such as acne, psoriasis and eczema. Traditionally, Indians bathed in neem leaves steeped in hot water to cure chronic skin ailments or allergic reactions. Neems pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory and fever reducing compounds also mean it can aid in the healing of cuts, burns, sprains, earaches and headaches, as well as fevers.
A few months ago I ditched my very expensive and not so natural facial care products and started using a neem facial soap. I absolutely adore it. I have used two different neem soaps and I loved them both. They smelled wonderful and they kept my skin looking soft and smooth.
The first soap I tried was the Skin Saver bar from Blue House Soaps. The second bar, which I am using now, is Thera Neem, which uses certified organic ingredients. Both bars are very reasonable in price and they last a long time, especially if you are just using them for your face, like I do.
Neem isnt such a secret anymore it is gaining popularity all over and for good reason.
I love the title :)
I have heard that neem is really great for your teeth. Have you read that too?
I haven’t read anything about that but I assumed so since I have seen toothbrushes and toothpaste from from neem.
Neem is also known as ‘the village pharmacy’ for it’s various healing property. It has been used as an ayurveda medicine almost over 4000 years.
