This weekend my two youngest and I made the trip to one of the Metro parks in Columbus. There are 15 amazing parks and we plan to visit them all this spring and summer. When we move to Columbus it is pretty important to us that we live next to one as well.
When I came home last night I informed my husband that we MUST move to Westerville, OH and get a condo right next to Inniswood Metro Gardens. They have condos and apartments that are literally a two minute walk from the main entrance. I was dreaming of walking every morning with kids and turning my oldest son loose on the rollerbladingand biking trails. My daughter loved this park so much she pulled a full on 5 year old tantrum when we had to leave. There is no playground there that I saw just flowers, big trees, benches, waterfalls, little ponds, ducks, and nature galore. It was absolutely a slice a heaven. We only covered a small portion of it too. I am absolutely giddy about going back to Inniswood AND exploring the other 14 parks!
Here are some of my best shots for Monday. See more here.
Looks gorgeous. Love the bluebells, and your daughter is beautiful!
Thx Misty!
how gorgeous!! parks are so fabulous in the spring. and those pics of your daughter are great! she is beautiful!
Oh it’s a small world! I grew up in Westerville. It’s a great town, if a bit conservative. There are lots of natural resources nearby. Glad you enjoyed Inniswood. I’m sure you’ll love the other parks too. The only thing I miss when visiting family there is that you pretty much have to drive everywhere (unlike my home in Chicago, where I can walk to the grocery, library, restaurants, parks, shops, train, etc.).
On one of your trips down here you should visit Whetstone Park. Not a metro park but a huge park that is part of the Columbus Parks and Recs dept. It is in Clintonville-a section of Columbus just North of OSU campus. Lots of Green, crunchy, homeschoolers in this neighborhood!
And after you visit Whetstone (where we love to hang out, being that we are green, crunchy homeschoolers!) you should check out Highbanks Metro Park. You just might decide that you want to live next to Highbanks park instead of Inniswood :)
Can we reserve Inniswood park for birthday party? It is the most beautiful park at Columbus
