TGIF! I hope everyone has an awesome weekend! I updated facebook fans recently about my progress with magnesium supplementation. This update came roughly one month after I wrote the original post about my deficiency. I woke up one morning to find that my monthly visitor had arrived with nary a symptom. No PMS at all. No backaches, minimal bloating, no fatigue whatsoever, and no chocolate cravings. My skin also gets a bit oily and I may get a tiny pimple or two this time of month. I had none … [Read more...]
TGIF – Kettlebells, Natural Parks, and the Ethics of Meat
TGIF! Have a great holiday weekend and spend lots of time hugging your babes and other loved ones. Amy & Brian Coconut Juice Review

Fitness bloggers are talking about it and pics of celebrities leaving the gym with a bottle or sippy box in their hand are everywhere. The protein bar thing didn't work out so well when I decided to get in THAT fad but this seemed relatively harmless. Coconut water as it appears in these products is just the water … [Read more...]
Coconut Milk Yogurt and Coconut Water Kefir
This week I decided to try my hand making coconut yogurt AND coconut water kefir with young coconuts. If you are unfamiliar with young coconuts they are the white coconuts you often see in health food stores, not the mature brown ones that usually taste nasty (IMO at least). This yogurt is a raw food dish and it is nice for an occasional treat. I started by cracking three of them open. Actually my husband did that part. He drained the coconut water as he opened them and reserved it in a bowl. … [Read more...]
