Preparing Your Home For Cold Weather

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

When cold weather shows up and decides to stay that is when my cold weather to-do list starts being made. I have quite a bit I need to get done each year and making sure it all gets done is extremely important for a variety of reasons. Everything on my cold weather home preparation list ensures that our home is a safe, warm, affordable, reliable, energy efficient, and healthy place to be for the winter months. Some of it is just checking for problems before they happen. Other aspects mean doing … [Read more...]

5 Ways to Bring the Freshness of Spring Indoors

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

I was compensated for this post as a Filtrete Healthy Home Ambassador, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Are you in full spring cleaning mode yet? I sure am. I just spent the past weekend decluttering and donating stuff to Goodwill. I have been collecting stuff from around the house to sell on Craigslist or take to consignment shops but they sat around for about a month so that was my clue to just donate them and be done with it. What a relief! Now I can get down to the nitty gritty and … [Read more...]

Dandruff is the common skin condition that leaves us with an itchy, irritated scalp and small flakes that gather on our clothing, often causing us frustration and embarrassment. So what to do? Well, it can help to investigate the reasons why we may have this condition and what makes it better or … [Read more...]

All the Money In the World Book Review

By Tiffany 3 Comments

Over the weekend I did very little to celebrate Earth Day. I planned on doing some gardening but alas it was cold and rainy here in Ohio. I ultimately ended up spending the weekend doing laundry, playing Plants vs Zombies in short spurts, and reading library books while in the comfort of my favorite recliner. I also enjoyed hearty crockpot meals. It was a good weekend. One of the books I read was All the Money in the World: What the Happiest People Know About Getting and Spending. I have read … [Read more...]

The Feast Nearby

As is normal this time of year, I am completely head over heels in love with local food. My garden is coming along nicely and I have tiny cauliflower, tomatoes, and sugar snap peas already. My city's farmer's market starts this Thursday and my organic delivery box is ripe with farm fresh produce and pastured eggs. It is about this time that I like to re-read my fave local food memoirs like This Organic Life, and Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. So of course when I saw a local foodie book at my … [Read more...]
