Exotic Animals Escape in Ohio

By Tiffany 5 Comments

If you have been watching the news you may have seen a story about what happened in Zanesville, OH yesterday. Zanesville is less than 50 miles away from where I live (and we have family there) so I watched with horror as this all unfolded. A man who was incredulously permitted to own well over 50 exotic animals decided to let them loose and then take his own life. Before he killed himself he opened cages for 48 animals including grizzly bears, wolves, lions, Bengal tigers, and chimps. I don't … [Read more...]

I Love Nature But Do I Have to Love Spiders?

By Tiffany 6 Comments

The other day I was watching my daughter play outside and she started to freak out about a bee. If it wasn't a bee it would have been a bug. She HATES the creepy crawlies and I can't blame her since I was the same way. It was well into my adult years that I started to accept them and not shriek and jump onto the nearest high surface. I wish I could say I had bad experiences that made me that way, and I did get bit by black widow spiders a couple times but overall I have to say that I was just … [Read more...]

Berry Smooth Summer Smoothie

By Tiffany 7 Comments

No doubt I have mentioned before that I am a smoothie freak. I am "trying" to cut down to just one a day because I can really go overboard, especially in the summer. I made the following smoothie this morning and it was quite delicious. Tomorrow I think I might add some ground flax seed to it. 1 and 1/2 cups vanilla almond milk 1 cup frozen mixed berries (I used raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries) 1 cup frozen strawberries 1-2 drops of vanilla extract 1 tablespoon vegetable greens … [Read more...]

American Moms Freak Out Over Breastfeeding

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

You may have heard about this already but just in case you missed it...Baby Talk magazine is taking heat from American moms who are outraged by the close-up picture of a baby breastfeeding on one of their recent covers. The magazine received anguished comments such as: "I was SHOCKED to see a giant breast on the cover of your magazine." "I immediately turned the magazine face down." And simply "Gross." I LOVED what blogger Dawn Olsen had to say on her blog: "Only in the United … [Read more...]
