3 Steps to Clutter Free Living

By Tiffany 1 Comment

Getting organized is good for your health. I know my mental attitude and outlook improves a hundred fold when my house is clean and orderly. When it is chaos, my life seems to mirror that. I am grumpy, unmotivated, less likely to be patient with my kids, and less likely to make good decisions. Who wants to cook that healthy slow food when the kitchen is a wreck and the pantry is so stuffed I cannot find the things I need? Ordering takeout starts to sounds a little too good. Likewise who wants to … [Read more...]

Urban Farm Magazine Deal

By Tiffany 4 Comments

I must confess that I have a bit of a magazine obsession. I LOVE magazines and last year I went kinda nuts with deals on subscriptions. I ended up with way too many magazines arriving in my mailbox but it was a valuable lesson for me on what I actually read and what I don't. Parenting magazines, no. Better Homes, no. Ladies Home Journal, no. Why did I even order those??? Mags like Oxygen, Health, Country Living, Mother Earth News, Mary Jane's Farm, and Hobby Farms...yes, yes, yes. I keep them … [Read more...]

Garage Sale and Second Hand Home Decorating

If you take a look at most any interior decorating book, magazine, or website you usually come away rather discouraged at the amount of money that it takes to achieve the look you want your home to have. It seems that anything resembling that glossy magazine photo is going to cost some serious green. But quite frankly there is a simple and effective method for attaining the look that you want without spending a fortune; all it takes is a solid knowledge of the style you have in mind, an empty … [Read more...]

Happiness Collections

By Tiffany 6 Comments

In the book The Happiness Project (which I reviewed here) one of the steps the author takes in her own happiness project is to start a collection. She had always wanted to collect something ever since childhood but never did. She never had the elated feeling you get when you find something exquisite that will compliment your collection, or the joy of seeing your collection grow. After some deliberation she decided that it would make her happy to start a collection and she proceeded to collect … [Read more...]

Vaccines, Toys, and Homeschool Stuff

TGIF! Have an awesome weekend everyone! I am hoping for a laaaazy weekend with my hubby and kids. I really hope hubby won't try and talk me into going to Zoombezi Bay but I think I will be outnumbered if he does. I went garage sale hopping this morning but there weren't that many unfortunately and the lack of available sales made for traffic jams and buying frenzy at the few there were. I think the economy is getting to people. I bought one book today...one of those Little Golden books that I … [Read more...]
