Easy Crock Pot Pumpkin Puree Recipe

By Tiffany 12 Comments

A few days ago I got a hankering for pumpkin soufflé. I haven't had a soufflé in years and even then it was a savory mushroom soufflé, not a dessert. Yet for some reason I just had to make one. The recipe called for canned pumpkin puree of course but I try to limit what we eat out of a can (BPA yo!) and would've had to make a special trip to the store. The store where I can buy organic pumpkin puree is even farther. So I decided to make my own puree using two pie pumpkins that had been sitting … [Read more...]

30 Day Clean & Green Kitchen Plan

By Tiffany 11 Comments

Cleaning the kitchen is one of those things that I know needs to be broken down into daily tasks but an actual plan of action seems to elude me. Build a Dream Playhouses Review

By Tiffany 5 Comments

We have owned several cardboard toys from mini treehouses and castles to spaceships to actual child size play houses. I like cardboard because it is recyclable or compostable and durable enough for kids to fully enjoy it before it needs to be tossed. You can also paint them all sorts of groovy colors and customize the way they they look. These days my kiddos are playing with a cardboard ice cream truck courtesy of Build a Dream Playhouses. They graciously offered to send us one on the house … [Read more...]

Do You Eat Dinner Together?

By Tiffany 9 Comments

This week (Sept. 16-22)  is National Eat Dinner Together week. This is an event that was started in 1996 and although I am not a huge fan of the institution that stared it (National Pork Producers) I think it is a valuable thing to remember...eating together as a family is important. This seems like this should be an easy thing but that is not always the case. When I was living in Arizona we had a fairly large kitchen but the only open area for a table was pretty small. My youngest son's … [Read more...]
