Now Is the Time to Pick a CSA
Spring is just around the corner and pretty soon we will start seeing the first of springs harvest. I can almost taste the fresh leafy greens. It is time to start planting seedlings for your garden. Or if you cannot garden or don't have a desire to it is perhaps time to send in your CSA share money. Applesfest – Local Fun, Local Food
This past weekend the kids and I went to our local apple orchard for Applefest. The orchard grows 26 different varieties of apples and is a family operation. The festival actually takes place behind their house and next to the orchard. The kids got to pet the farm animals, ride in a horse-drawn wagon, ride in a train car pulled by a lawn mower, make their way through a hay maze, and dance to a live bluegrass band.
