Easy Overnight Crockpot Applesauce

By Tiffany 5 Comments

A few weeks back the kids went to a local orchard and picked some apples. We got a couple bushels and because small kids were picking apples and because we went to an orchard that doesn't spray their trees with nasty pesticides, we got quite a few apples with blemishes and "issues". The apples sat in the kitchen for awhile and we picked the nicest looking ones for school lunches and snacking. Then after a couple weeks we were left only with apples that were spotted, bruised, and unsavory … [Read more...]

The Story of Our Toxic Food System

By Tiffany 6 Comments

The graphic below should be a huge eye opener for anyone who eats. Yeah, everyone. Our food system has grown so toxic that we have worry about far more than calories and nutrients. Now we have to worry about hormone disruptors, neurodevelopmental deficits, and cancer...stemming from our food. Often times we see factory farms buy out the operations of family farmers and yet these farms still like to market themselves as local, family, salt of the earth farms when they are anything but. Can a once … [Read more...]

The LunchBots Trio

By Tiffany 5 Comments

I have been a LunchBots fan for quite awhile. I have the LunchBots Duo and have used it for years now. I use it to store kiddie snacks on the road, I use it for school lunches, and I use it for my own snacks and lunch on occasion. It was this particular lunchbox that I took with me to a seminar I attended recently in fact. So color me overjoyed to try one of their new lunchboxes. I have eyed the Trio and the Quad with much desire. The folks at LunchBots kindly sent me the Trio and I have used … [Read more...]

Crocodile Creek Water Bottles

By Tiffany 32 Comments

I have long been a fan of Crocodile Creek products. They have so many inventive products that are safer for kids. Many of those products are awesome for sending kids back to school like their backpacks and lunchboxes. We got some of the stainless steel water bottles for back to school here and like other Crocodile Creek products they are colorful, appealing to kids, and they make a common household product healthier for children and the planet. These would go perfectly with the CC lunchboxes or … [Read more...]

Bilt Stainless Steel Water Bottles for Kids

By Tiffany 5 Comments

Parker had his first speech therapy session today so we did a simple lunch before hand with drink bottles that he and his sister could take along with them to his appointment. The appointment was interesting...he got very frustrated with the session and hated to have to sit and try to talk or keep identifying pictures over and over. Unlike last time he was happy to leave. But I digress... we have been using Bilt stainless steel water bottles lately and they are great for travel. They are … [Read more...]
