Bringing Up Bebe – The Wisdom of French Parenting

By Tiffany 14 Comments

I admire attachment parenting philosophy quite a bit and that is primarily what guided me when my babes were little. I have mentioned in the past though that my endeavor to be a good, attached parent kind of lead me to a place were I was lost, frazzled, and on the verge of a divorce. I felt like I was a slave to my kids every need and only now with more modern books on AP, like Mayim Bialik's Beyond the Sling am I seeing warnings to make sure that marital and personal relationships as well as … [Read more...]

Beyond the Sling Book Review

By Tiffany 8 Comments

When I reserved this book from my library I had no idea if I would enjoy it or not. I don't read too many parenting books anymore because my kids are getting older. While attachment parenting is a topic near and dear to me I don't need a refresher on subjects like breastfeeding, babywearing, and co-sleeping so much. Rather I go for books about specific issues nowadays and geared toward older kids. I think I ended up getting it because I really, really like Mayim Bialik. I loved her show Blossom … [Read more...]

Attachment Parenting During Pregnancy

By Tiffany 2 Comments

The Green Moms Weekly question is this: Why is it as important to begin your journey as an attachment parent during pregnancy as it is after the birth of your baby? Being an attachment parent can begin even before your baby is born. Mostly this is done by educating yourself and preparing for the birth of your little bundle. I have lots of ideas on how you can accomplish this: Natural Childbirth - The more alert you and baby are the easier it will be to start bonding and learning the art … [Read more...]

Comfy Joey Slings

By Tiffany 160 Comments

When my two youngest kiddos were little, I wore them close to me via ring slings, pouches, and wraps. I knew nothing of these amazing devices when my oldest was born but they sure would have been a lifesaver since he was my neediest baby by far. Wearing your baby was something that I was introduced to when I looked into attachment style parenting and it just seemed like a no-brainer way to not only deepen the bond with your child but also a great way to minimize gadgets and gear meant to … [Read more...]

Natural Teething Remedies and Relief

By Tiffany 11 Comments

One of the struggles of trying to parent as naturally as possible is handling obvious pain and discomfort in our children without going the mainstream route and medicating them with potentially dangerous substances. Whether or not they like berry or bubblegum flavored medicated syrup is a non issue when you won't give them that stuff regardless. Teething may be one of the first times we go looking for a way to relieve their pain naturally and there are no shortage of safer, more natural teething … [Read more...]
