Holistic Valentine’s Day Ideas

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

The term holistic (or wholistic) refers to addressing the whole person...mentally, socially, and physically. We usually think of it in terms of alternative medicine that treats the whole person and not just a symptom or a disease as does conventional medicine. Valentine's Day though is a wonderful time to embrace this concept as well - to embrace the heart, mind, and body of your sweetie. Here are some ideas for a holistic Valentine's Day: 1. Go to a holistic spa for a treatment together, or … [Read more...]

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp with Garlic Oil

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

Another meal success with eMeals! I wrote about them a little over a week ago and how their service is helping me plan some yummy meals. This particular meal was on their special Paleo Valentine's menu that was a bonus perk of membership. They have a regular Valentine's menu too but since I am on the paleo menu plan I got the paleo one. I thought that was very nice bonus. My husband will be working on Valentine's Day most likely so we went ahead and made one of the meals today for a cozy … [Read more...]

Unique and Vintage Valentine’s Gifts for Kids

By Tiffany 1 Comment

The other day I was searching for a few children's gift ideas and card ideas for Valentine's Day that did not feel cheap and junky. It seems to me that most gift ideas nowadays are plastic and cheap looking but I wanted some ideas with a "classic" or "vintage" feel...throwbacks to simpler days when gifts were made to last and be treasured. I also wanted something candy free and I think I managed to find a few treasures that fit the bill. These were some of the gift ideas I bookmarked: 1. … [Read more...]

Staying Healthy and Boosting Immunity After Valentine’s Day

By Tiffany 9 Comments

Leading up to Valentine's Day you are likely to read articles about gift ideas, ways to make it magical, or perhaps what candy and chocolate is the most ethical and healthy. You don't typically see articles about what to do if your kids came home from school with a metric ton of candy and sweets and you don't actually have the heart to confiscate it. That would be me. I don't buy any Valentine's candy his time of year. Not a single piece for me or the kids. When we have to send the kids to … [Read more...]

Buddha Chocolate Review

By Tiffany 4 Comments

As I mentioned in my Valentine's post I am declaring Buddha Chocolate a new fave around here. I have always adored raw chocolate but since going Paleo late last year I am craving chocolate more than ever. Not the milk chocolate you find at most grocery stores either. I only want super dark chocolate, which is harder to find unless I drive to a health foods store. Not sure why I am experiencing these cravings but I feel comfortable just going with it. Buddha Chocolate sent me some of their … [Read more...]
