By Tiffany 6 Comments

If you have a baby on the way or your little bundle is already here then no doubt you want to ensure you have a green friendly and non-toxic nursery—read on! In these days of eco consciousness, for us to keep our children’s world as safe as we can, we need to start in our home and what better place than your baby’s first environment (after the womb of course)? Perhaps you don't have a separate nursery because you co-sleep. That great! We just need to make sure all of baby's hangouts are safe as … [Read more...]

Summer Energy Saving Tips for Kids

By Tiffany 7 Comments

Summer is here and kids are out of school. There is no time like the present to get the whole family focused on conserving power and reducing energy costs. Our water bill goes up mightily and we have hefty A/C bills unless we keep it in check. The kids run out of the house and leave door open (letting hot air inside), they leave the TV on while they play … [Read more...]

Leave Your Shoes by the Door

By Tiffany 14 Comments

A source of clutter my in my home that has long bothered me is the shoe rack inside our door. Rather than tucking the shoes neatly inside an available space my kids usually just throw them into a pile on the top shelf until they spill onto the floor. The shoe rack was a step up from the basket we used at our old place but that was cluttered and messing looking too. I am still looking for a way to hide the shoe clutter but we won't budge on having that designated space because the shoes come off … [Read more...]

Untreated milk cuts children’s allergies

By Tiffany 1 Comment

British academics investigating why farmers’ families suffer fewer allergies than others found that even occasional consumption of raw — unpasteurised — milk had a powerful effect. Just a couple of glasses a week reduced a child’s chances of developing eczema by almost 40 per cent and hayfever by 10 per cent. Blood tests … [Read more...]
