Energems – Candy for Working Out

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

Energy candy, chews, jellybeans...for quite awhile know I have known about them and wanted to give them a whirl to see if they really work. I know quite a few fitness bloggers, runners, and enthusiasts who swear by them. They look just like candy and come in a variety of shapes and sizes but they are more Red Bull then sugar rush. My workout routine though really didn't require them. I worked out in the mornings, when I am naturally at my most energetic and fresh. That changed this past month … [Read more...]

Reuseable Straws and Popsicle Molds on Zulily

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

Three of my absolute favorite things are on sale at Zulily currently. I jumped all over these deals myself so I had to share... Popsicle Molds: We go through lots of popsicles in the summer and to keep costs down, as well as avoid the needless wrapper and stick waste (which always end up on the lawn) we make our own at home. I also like having control over the sugar content and the use of artificial dyes. No need to ensure hyperactivity! Anyway we have several different molds to keep … [Read more...]

Staying Healthy and Boosting Immunity After Valentine’s Day

By Tiffany 9 Comments

Leading up to Valentine's Day you are likely to read articles about gift ideas, ways to make it magical, or perhaps what candy and chocolate is the most ethical and healthy. You don't typically see articles about what to do if your kids came home from school with a metric ton of candy and sweets and you don't actually have the heart to confiscate it. That would be me. I don't buy any Valentine's candy his time of year. Not a single piece for me or the kids. When we have to send the kids to … [Read more...]

Staying Healthy and Boosting Immunity AFTER Halloween

By Tiffany 11 Comments

Much of the information you find about staying healthy around Halloween addresses what you can do beforehand... aka keep kids away from the candy. You see advice to have the Great Pumpkin come and trade the candy for books and toys or you forgo trick or treating and make healthier treats yourself. That is actually great advice. Halloween candy is actually terribly bad for your kid's health. Those are just the facts. It is loaded with immune suppressing sugar and other junkie ingredients like … [Read more...]

Nourishing Potato Leek Soup

By Tiffany 6 Comments

This is actually my fave soup evah! Or maybe it is tied with my Mushroom and Sherry soup, tough call. Either way this soup is nourishing and delicious and it utilizes one of my fave veggies... the leek. In order to make the soup green you need to use all of this delicious vegetable from the white part to the dark green. Often times recipes only call for the light part of the leek but I use the whole shebang. Part of why that works so well is because I blend the majority of the soup to … [Read more...]
