Scents That Make Better Sense

By Tiffany 8 Comments

I used to be a big time perfume lover. All throughout my teens and early adult years I wore Elizabeth Arden's Red Door perfume. Just ask my husband, he is still sulking that I no longer wear what he considers my signature scent. Eventually I stopped wearing it because who has time for perfume when you have to change messy diapers and supply breast milk on tap 24/7? Then after a few years I decided I didn't WANT to wear it because conventional perfume is some seriously toxic and nasty stuff and I … [Read more...]

What Is Your Microwave Doing To Your Health?

By Tiffany 37 Comments

When we moved last year we finally said goodbye and good riddance to one popular appliance... the microwave. The old one stayed with the house and I knew that we would not be purchasing another. It was time to say goodbye. We didn't use our old one very much but the very presence of it meant that we did use it occasionally... say for melting butter or to heat up leftovers quickly. I didn't want to use it, but it was hard to resist the convenience. It was just one of those things that required … [Read more...]

Breastfeeding Is Green – Tips Too

By Tiffany 15 Comments

World Breastfeeding Week is coming in August. The goal is too bring awareness to breastfeeding which in actuality seems kinda silly to me. Moms have two feeding implements on their chest at all times and we have to have a national awareness week to make them aware of what they are for?? Hmmm. With the advent of baby bottles and formula feeding it seems breastfeeding has taken a back seat but there are probably hundreds of reasons why it should get the attention it deserves. I truly believe that … [Read more...]

Get Your Dream On Without Toxins

By Tiffany 13 Comments

When I think of what I want my bedroom to be, I think about a serene and tranquil place that I can retire to after an exhausting, activity filled day. I think the bedroom should be a place of calm and relaxation…a place to unwind and think quietly about anything that is on my mind. It needs to have windows to let in natural light and cool breezes, it needs to have good lighting to read by, and above all it needs to be a place that is natural, safe, and conducive to good sleep. Sounds good in … [Read more...]

Mama Knows Breast

By Tiffany 31 Comments

I don't really talk about breastfeeding all that much on this blog but I really should because it is one of the most natural and "green" things you can do as a mom. I have breastfed three kids now. My oldest only got 4 months of breast milk because I had to return to work and my place of employment was a big corporate office with a shared bathroom and my office was all glass in front. I would have had no place to pump so he was weaned a lot sooner then I would have liked. I STILL feel guilty … [Read more...]
