Eco Friendly Options for Gift Wrapping

By Tiffany 2 Comments

Gift wrapping paper with all it's bright colors and beautiful design is often hard to resist. Yet it is also expensive and wasteful to produce and use. Why use resources to produce beautiful paper that will end up ripped to shreds and thrown away only a few weeks later? Should we just go without wrapping the gifts that we give to others? Most people like to give gifts with some sort of embellishment so you may want to consider cheaper "recycled" gift wrap options.  Thoughtful touches and … [Read more...]

Playing Croquet and Making Summer Fun Memories

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

Sadly at the height of summer this year it was just too darn hot to spend much time outside. I started to think I was back in my hometown of Phoenix, Arizona rather than in Central Ohio. It was so hot that my kids ended up playing video games and watching TV way more than normal. The temperatures were too high and the normally cool, soft grass was dry and crunchy. Our lawn still hasn't recovered. Ugh. The weather of late though has been wonderful and I am hoping for a mild Fall so that we can … [Read more...]

Natural Earth Paints Review

By Tiffany 4 Comments

School starts back up in just a couple weeks. This means that bed times need to come back down to a reasonable hour... aka no more Lego building until 1:00 in the morning. You hear that dear daughter???? It also means that I am getting antsy about sending my youngest to Kindergarten. I want the transition to be as easy as possible and that is a tall order for a child who doesn't do well with change. He will be leaving his previous school (preschool) and going to the same school as his older … [Read more...]

Painting Rocks and Sticks – TV Free Activity

By Tiffany 8 Comments

Painting rocks? How fun can that be and why would you want to do it? Well, today kicks off Screen Free Week. This week is dedicated to turning off various forms of media and turning on real life activities. Every year this event rolls around and many families either turn off their electronics for the week or they reduce the time spent pursuing those activities. We generally do the latter because we don't actually spend that much time watching TV...though computers are a different story. At an … [Read more...]

Getting Dirty and Looking Pretty to Boot!

By Tiffany 3 Comments

This lovely lady to the right is my 8 year old daughter. I have two boys and yet she is the one who would gladly spend every available moment outside playing with friends and getting dirty. She is such an outdoor girl and she needs boots that will not only keep her feet warm during our cold Ohio winters, she also wants some that are fashionable. Whether you are splashing in puddles or building a fort you need to look good right? Well, I hear that you do anyway. The good folks at Bogs offered … [Read more...]
