Balancing pH with the Right Foods & Alkaline Water

By Tiffany 3 Comments

As I have mentioned before my “healthy diet” ideals are varied and spread out among numerous ideologies and theories. For instance I started out liking the WAPF way of eating but kind of moved away from it as I narrowed in on a grain free, dairy free diet. Yet I still love the bone broth, probiotics, and organ meats they promote so heavily. I like the variety of veggies and plant based foods … [Read more...]

By Tiffany 33 Comments

I recently spent a few days at my parents' house a couple counties away. I always bring a few books with me and enjoy the unplugged time and this particular visit was no exception. Almost as soon as I walked in the door I plopped down on a recliner and pulled out a book I was excited to read, Wheat Belly by William Davis, MD. It was the second book I read in a week that dealt with the issue of eschewing grains from the diet (more on the other book later). For the new year I decided to make … [Read more...]

Crazy Sexy Diet Book Review

By Tiffany 4 Comments

I just finished up an awesome new book last night. Crazy Sexy Diet: Eat Your Veggies, Ignite Your Spark, and Live Like You Mean It! by Kris Carr. I was looking forward to this book for a long time because Kris Carr and her ideas have a lot of personal significance to me. Kris's first book, Crazy Sexy Cancer, was the first one I read after my cancer diagnosis and it was amazing to read about her journey with cancer just as I was beginning my own. Kris was diagnosed with a rare and deadly cancer … [Read more...]

TGIF! Have an awesome weekend everyone! I have some personal news I find rather exciting. This month marks two years since my cancer diagnosis. Can you believe it has been that long! Well, I am 1.5 years cancer free at the moment. I hope I am not getting too cocky posting that! I still think about all the great people I met during treatment and of course I have gnarly scars to remind me everyday that life is a precious thing. Well, as I got to thinking about this today I decided that my kids … [Read more...]

Organic Therapy

By Tiffany 1 Comment

The article below is of great interest to me. Since my cancer diagnosis I have thought alot about how important an organic diet free of chemicals and pesticides is to the human body and its ability to ward off cancer cells. The volume of chemicals and pesticides in conventional foods MUST surely have some effect on cancer rates in my opinion. By JOHN THRELFALL Jul 05 2006 Worldwide, people are being diagnosed with cancer at rates unprecedented in recorded history. And after examining a … [Read more...]
