Balancing Life With Attached Parenting

By Tiffany 13 Comments

October is attachment parenting (AP) month. You may or may not be familiar with this style of parenting but many green, natural, crunchy, granola parenting types are. It seems to mesh really well with lots of the other things we hold dear. A group of green/natural mom bloggers have recently gotten together to form a weekly column called Green Moms Weekly and the first question that was posed to the group honors attachment parenting month. The question is “How do you balance your busy lifestyle … [Read more...]

Keeping Cool in the Kitchen

By Tiffany 3 Comments

Cooks know that as the temperatures outside increases, the desire to cook decreases. It has already hit me full force... I don't want to heat the kitchen by using my oven at all. And it isn’t due to lack of wanting to cook I just have the need to keep our home as cool as possible. We don't run our air conditioner willy nilly because we don't want to be energy hogs.. or spend extra money on energy bills. This is why baking is done mostly in the winter months and cool dishes are served during the … [Read more...]

Eating Well and Spending Less

By Tiffany 5 Comments

There seem to be two major concerns battling for superiority when it comes to the subject of eating well.  Firstly, everyone can agree that eating healthfully is important, but at the same time, with the increasing cost of food prices, there is a strong emphasis being put on saving money on your grocery bill. Is there a way to be able to reconcile the two? In spite of the astronomical rise in food prices (especially in fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and dairy) there is a way to ensure that … [Read more...]

The 15 Minute Miracle

By Tiffany 10 Comments

Something miraculous has happened in our home. Every morning I get to wake up to a clean house and the feeling is sooooo nice!! A couple weeks ago I bartered for house cleaning services and my house was whipped into shape. I absolutely LOVE getting up to sparkly floors and NO toys on the floor. Gone were the days of pretending that the kids toys, books, and clothing all over the floor was actually a burglary early warning system. BUT after everything was super clean I started to notice every … [Read more...]

Raw Food for Kids

By Tiffany 2 Comments

Just in case you missed it, I posted about kids and raw food over at my other blog. It is challenging IMO to commit to a raw foods diet because it is so different than what we all grew up and with. It also contrasts with what is considered the "norm" nowadays. Kids in particular can be hard to transition away from processed, chemical laden, nutritionally deficient cooked foods. You have to get more creative than trail mix and salad to get the kids on board. With that in mind I have just … [Read more...]
