Quick and Easy Baby Shower Tips

By Tiffany 12 Comments

Daisy Handmade Doll

Are you going to be welcoming a new baby soon or know someone that will be? Well, having a baby shower is one of the most fun things about being pregnant, at least it was for me. I generally didn't enjoy being pregnant but I certainly loved the anticipation and getting to share my excitement with those closest to me. Baby showers are just a wee bit magical don't you think? The folks at Once Upon a Treehouse have shared some baby shower tips with me and I am passing them along to you...along … [Read more...]

The Center of Science and Industry for Summer Fun

By Tiffany 6 Comments

As I mentioned previously we checked an item off our summer fun checklist last week. We went to COSI, which in my mind is a science themed children's museum. It has stuff that the whole family will enjoy but it caters to kids for sure. My husband, 6 year old, and I were invited as part of a local blogger event that introduced us to the early learning program they offer there. We attended the early learning class first off and then spent the afternoon wandering around the museum. We feel … [Read more...]

The Henry Ford Museum in Detroit

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

One of the really fun things I got to do on my trip to Detroit for the auto show (NAIAS ) was go to the Henry Ford Museum. I got to see an exhibit that has not opened to the public yet AND had a catered dinner right there among all the amazing cars. I felt kinda bad being there without my Dad though... he would have loved it! I did however, get to have dinner with some amazing green mom friends. As a big history buff I just love museums so this was right up my alley even if cars really … [Read more...]

Educational Games for Cold Weather Fun

By Tiffany 8 Comments

Is it getting chilly in your neck of the woods? It is here in central Ohio. I am already putting my energy savings and stay warm plan into action. This week I hope to sew up some rice bags that will be mini space heaters in our beds, some draft snakes for windows and doors, and some window quilts. Because we know it will be cold and snowy for many months I have also been thinking about how we can entertain ourselves without resorting to watching TV all winter. Yes, we will be indoors a lot but … [Read more...]

Eco Friendly Crafts for Kids

By Tiffany 9 Comments

Tomorrow I officially withdraw my son from public school and our homeschool journey begins...sort of. I have many activities and fun things planned for the summer that will be highly educational but we aren't calling it "school". One important facet of this will be crafting and creating but I admit we can get carried away consuming supplies so I want to emphasize recycled crafts and projects. Many times parents marvel at the items children will choose to play with for amusement. From pots … [Read more...]
