5 Ways to Get Children Gardening

By Tiffany 7 Comments

Children have so many ways to keep busy. Computers, televisions, tablets, game consoles, the Internet, and more. However, as a parent, you know that some of those “things to do” are rather mindless and void of any learning value. The question is, how do we get children away from the mindless into something not only educational, but fun as well. Take gardening for example. Gardening for kids can be more than a hobby; it can be a life skill that can serve them for the rest of their lives. … [Read more...]

Very Hungry Caterpillar Counting App

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

I wanted to share this counting app for either iPad or Android devices because it is free at the moment, possibly only for today. I downloaded it myself for my autistic seven year old and I was just so pleased with it I had to share this deal. My kiddo, while advanced in age, is still only in Kindergarten and he has been having great difficulty with much of what he is learning. It is going to be a very long road I imagine but one thing we have already identified that helps him is having a … [Read more...]

Getting Organized with Me in a Tree

By Tiffany 2 Comments

I was so encouraged by my progress on my New Year's goals for the month of January. It was an awesome start to the year. Then along came February and I was bombarded by one stressful situation after another. Much of it was stuff I could not control and feeling helpless is no fun at all. Some of it though was just reaping the consequences of being so disorganized. They say that once it rains, it pours and that is the way February went. It's all about the Law of Attraction. Once the bad stuff … [Read more...]

Have You Ever Wanted to Do a Mud Run?

By Tiffany 14 Comments

Last year I really, really wanted to do mud run. I run quite often in CrossFit class and do lots of jumping, hanging on bars, and climbing ropes as well. A mud run just seemed like such a fun way to spend the day while enjoying a physical challenge. The seemingly perfect run for me to participate in was very near to my location even and yet I was paralyzed by fear. I have never done one before...what if it turned out to be uber competitive and I couldn't hack it? What if I couldn't run the whole … [Read more...]

‘S’ is For Savings with PNC

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

One of the most important things I hope to impart to my kids is knowledge of money and good financial practices. I remember vaguely my parents talking to me about money but not really in depth and it is a shame because they were good examples to follow as far as money management goes. I had to learn about money and making smart choices with it pretty much all on my own or perhaps the lessons taught by my parents just needed time to marinate before they actually sunk in, but either way I am … [Read more...]
