Should We Get Behind Plastic Bag Bans?

By Tiffany 4 Comments

When it comes to Government legislation I don't tow any particular party line. I like to look at each situation individually and make up my mind. That means I may end up voting against implementing something like a smoking ban in bars (even though I think the habit is beyond disgusting) because I don't feel my it's my right to make a private business owner do things my way and I can always opt out of bar hopping if I want to limit exposure right? If I lived in California I would have … [Read more...]

Going Greener and Healthier With The Honest Company

By Tiffany 2 Comments

By now you have probably heard about The Honest Company. It has certainly gotten a good deal of mainstream press because of it ownership by actress Jessica Alba. Though if you stay up to date on the latest in safe and sustainable products for the home then this gem of a company probably would have passed by your radar anyway. With so many unsavory products on the market it is a great satisfaction to us parents when a more ethical company with safe products not only arrives, but also … [Read more...]

Freeganism and Eating Your Way To A Healthier Environment

By Tiffany 5 Comments

Americans throw away millions of dollars worth of food every year. This food ends up in dumpsters and garbage bins and eventually in landfills where it impacts the environment. It also impacts the environment when we have to keep growing more food than we actually need. Just think about all the energy used to grow crops and the taxation of the soil. Throwing food away is highly wasteful and hurtful to our planet. There is a movement out there that wants to change all that, and the movement is … [Read more...]

LunaPanties Review

By Tiffany 13 Comments

As indicated in my round up of greener menstrual products I am not a fan of the mainstream menstrual products for women. Paper and plastic pads and tampons just aren't good options for the planet nor for a woman's comfort. More than anything I think those mainstream options allow us to distance ourselves from the process as much as possible and not take responsibility for it. Either that or it is just pure convenience... aka why wash cloth pads or rinse out a Diva Cup in soapy water and get your … [Read more...]

Preserve Colanders – Recycled and BPA Free

By Tiffany 2 Comments

All this week I have been using a Preserve colander in the kitchen. There is just no better kitchen gadget than a colander for washing all the fresh fruits and veggies we eat. Our colanders also do double duty as produce bowls on the counter when they are not in use. I am loving my Preserve colander too. Preserve is no stranger company to me. I am already a big fan of their toothbrushes. What I love, love, love about Preserve... other than their fantastically designed products... is the fact … [Read more...]
