By Tiffany 6 Comments

The graphic below should be a huge eye opener for anyone who eats. Yeah, everyone. Our food system has grown so toxic that we have worry about far more than calories and nutrients. Now we have to worry about hormone disruptors, neurodevelopmental deficits, and cancer...stemming from our food. Often times we see factory farms buy out the operations of family farmers and yet these farms still like to market themselves as local, family, salt of the earth farms when they are anything but. Can a once … [Read more...]

By Tiffany 30 Comments

In fact I much prefer dehydration to canning because not only are you preserving the food, you are leaving it structurally and nutritionally in tact. When you cook a food you are changing the composition of it AND you are destroying as much as 50-80% of the nutritional value it once held. … [Read more...]

The Dangers of Synthetic Vitamins

We may readily consume foods that have almost no nutritional value (think Pop Tarts and soda). Our soil is also depleted continuously by bad farming practices and thus the "healthy" food grown on many farms is lacking. The message consumers are receiving from supplement … [Read more...]

Nutrition at School

By Tiffany 4 Comments

The subject of healthy meals at school has been consuming alot of my thoughts lately so I thought I would share my feelings on this hot topic and also tell you why this has become an issue in my family. We all want our children to eat healthy food right? We may put alot of time and effort into making their meals as nutritious and healthy as possible but we sometimes we may not be in charge of their food options. The majority of children attend public school and monitoring what they eat while … [Read more...]

Natural Eating Advice from Spongebob Squarepants

By Tiffany Leave a Comment

My children were watching Spongebob Squarepants tonight. On the episode they were watching, Mr. Crabs decided to sell his "mom and pop" family restaurant the Krusty Crab to a big company that ultimately made so many changes to the eatery that it became unrecognizable. One of the big changes they made was to the menu. Instead of the traditional crabby patties the new company was manufacturing some sort of grey slime with no nutritional value. Then they processed the slime into the shape of a … [Read more...]
