Late last year I wrote about Earthing - what it is and why it is so important so learn about and implement in our daily lives. The post is rather long winded but essentially it is about reconnecting to the earth...physically. It makes the case that we are actually meant to be in close contact with the earth and that our health suffers when we don't have that contact. We all know that kids who do not have the close contact and "touch" of their parents suffer physically and mentally. It is well … [Read more...]
My Week With the Kia Optima Hybrid
Last week I had the pleasure of cruising around Columbus in a Kia Optima Hybrid. It is a bit pricier than most of the other cars I have gotten to test drive of late and it was my first hybrid. My previous experience has mostly been with regular vehicles that have great fuel economy or all electric cars. I was really jazzed to get a behind the wheel of a hybrid. I like games that involve strategy and aren't too commercial in nature. Both of these games were a perfect fit for us. The first we played was Tier auf Tier. … [Read more...]
Flower Pots Made From Recycled Tires
We have had so much rain here in Ohio that it has made getting into the gardening spirit a bit hard. To make up for it I have been buying up indoor plants like crazy. I think my husband is worried we will be living in a jungle soon. But I did add the first patch of color outside this weekend because I had a nifty new planter to put to work for us. I am not a fan of plastic and I have yet to get out and scope the auction scene to buy some clay pots so this pot was just what I needed. It is a … [Read more...]
